The Mystery and Mastery of Night Photography

by Douglas Hope Hooper

Douglas will share the joy he experiences when he takes his camera out at night. "Not having the sun in the sky opens up an endless array of possibilities for interesting photos. Yes, it’s true you need light to make a photo, but not that much. And without the sun being up, you can take complete control of the lighting.”

In planning this presentation, Douglas identified 25 different categories of night photos to discuss…..or maybe a few more by August 13th. He will cover the easiest categories such as making a photo of a night street scene all the way to the most complex category - making a flash photo of a fire spinner with fire trails. Douglas will also cover light painting and ghosts.

“Just to be clear, this presentation is not about Milky Way photography; it’s about the wealth of creative possibilities that are waiting for you to discover by working at night.”
